The Skin Cancer Taskforce seeks to support and promote evidence-based collaborative strategies to improve skin cancer prevention and early detection among Vermonters to decrease the burden of melanoma and other skin cancers in Vermont.
Why a Skin Cancer Taskforce?
Meeting Information
Vermont has one of the highest rates of melanoma incidence in the U.S. Ultraviolet radiation exposure from the sun, sunlamps and tanning beds is the major known factor associated with melanoma. Melanoma is largely preventable through use of sun protection methods, such as sunscreen, hats, protective clothing, shade, and sunglass.

Like most people I know, several of my family members and friends have been impacted by cancer. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to address cancer in Vermont through my work with VTAAC and the coalition’s numerous passionate members.
